“No, babe. I haven’t been fucking her. We’ve had separate bedrooms.”

“She was okay with this?”

“She’s not going to let you go without a fight. And the FBI isn’t going to be any help because they don’t want to risk their investigation.”

I walk to the bed, pull back the cover and tuck myself next to him. “I’ve always been in your corner. I just haven’t been in the same ring, or even the same gym.”

He runs his finger down my cheek and cups my chin. “We’re in the same gym now. And I promise you I’m not going to join another one, ever.”

“What if the membership goes up and you find yourself…weighed down?”

“Babe, go ahead and weigh me down.”

I roll on top of him. “How does that feel?”

“That’s a start.”

“You’re already married.”

“I’m serious, Jaxson. I know you and your manly pride. It’s not going to be yours, or mine, or hers, or his. It will be ours, or it will be no one’s.”

“You’re bossy.”

“Technically, I am your boss.”

“I could quit, you know. Become a kept man, a man-mom. Form a man-mom only playgroup because all the woman-mom groups don’t like the way we change diapers, or that we think a little sand never hurt anyone, or we don’t consider dick or cock to be four-letter words. Then I could organize man-mom nights out. Nights where man-moms can blow off the stress of being home all the time…being spit-up on all the time…wiping green snotty noses all the time…having our women coming home from the office late all the time…generally just being underappreciated all the time. We would go be men and do man stuff, like go to a hockey game, get drunk, fart, burp, get into a fight because some dude calls you a pussy because you’re a man-mom. Or, we could go to a strip club, get drunk and be womanizing man-mom pricks.”

Man, I thought I was losing it. “You do know that we have a nanny and we can hire more help when the baby comes?”

“We could go with that.”

“We are going with that. And just so you know, cock and dick are four-letter words.”

“See, you’re just like all the other woman-moms.”

“How did we get from my casa is your casa to man-moms?”
